There are many reasons that we as a whole are overweight, and obese. Additional reasons in the fight of obesity include eating portions that are too large, eating too often during the day, not exercising enough, and using work or a good night on the town as a reason not to worry about getting enough sleep. Back in the day when the horses helped to plow the fields, before cards and computers, a person needed at least nine hours of sleep night for a functioning work day and they worked very hard. If you are not getting at least seven hours of sleep a night, and you are working on overload, stressed out and you are ‘being pulled’ in various directions by the children and your spouse you can easily see why you should still get a full nights rest as a part of a balanced diet and a balanced life.
